Crispin Scott will tell us of the work of the National Trust from his position as Wildlife Adviser for London and SE England.

27 April           Home and Away by Bill Hamilton 

Bill has been invited back to tall us his tales of life in journalism and broadcasting, both home and abroad.  He was much enjoyed when he spoke to us a few years ago.

Please note that this talk has been brought forward one week because of the Bank Holiday.

18 May            In the Footsteps of the Famous in Barnet by Paul Baker


Barnet and the beautiful Georgian enclave of Monken Hadley, just north of High Barnet, boast a huge amount of famous -- and sometimes infamous -- people who have lived there or known it extremely well: Royalty, Prime Ministers, Pepys, John Wesley, Dickens, Trollope, Thackeray, David Livingstone, J.M.W. Turner, Kingsley Amis, John Betjeman, Spike Milligan, amongst many others. This talk shows the sites and tells the stories.

Agatha Christie was married to Sir Max Mallowen, the archaeologist, and accompanied him on his ‘digs’, thus travelling to some fascinating places.

 

27 July            The Palace of Knightsbridge by Richard Furnival Jones
